Barnett is the original creator of the latex foam cushion. We have been using latex foam fill since we started making cushions at the end of World War II. Latex foam retains loft better than any other fill material, lasts longer than other foams, and is machine washable.
Does Barnett use a solid piece of latex foam in the cushions or is it shredded?
Our latex foam fill is shredded. This allows us to achieve the perfect density for sitting. It also allows the cushion to conform to chair arms or spindles.
Does Barnett use natural latex, dunlop or talalay latex foam in the cushions?
Barnett uses a blend of natural and synthetic latex foam in our cushions. The cushions may contain talalay and or dunlop. We are not able to separate the foam blend for you.
Does pre-consumer recycled foam mean it's been used?
No, pre-consumer recycled foam means it has not been used by a consumer. We are recovering the foam from another US company's manufacturing process, the foam has never been used in a customer's home. Instead of the manufacturer disposing unused foam as waste, we purchase it and upcycle it into premium cushion fill.
Is latex the same thing as memory foam? What about offgassing?
We do not use memory foam or polyurethane foam in our tufted cushions; latex foam is not the same foam most customers are thinking of when they have questions about offgassing. You can learn more about health, safety and environmental concerns on our FAQ page.
If we're allergic to latex can we use Barnett cushions?
Most of our cushions are filled with latex foam. All of our products are made in a facility where latex foam is processed, including the polyurethane foam flat pads and the polyester fiber fill decorative throw pillows. If you or someone in your household is allergic to latex, please do not purchase any products from us. If you unintentionally purchased a latex foam cushion from us you can request a Standard Return Authorization.
